Remoissenet sources their Givry from Domaine Thenard, an estate that my employer imports. The 2003 Remoissenet, Givry, rouge is very dark in color and muted on the nose at the moment. The wine is medium-bodied on the palate and shows dark, slightly roasted fruits. 2003 was an extremely challenging vintage in Burgundy due to the extreme heat, but the traditionally cooler appellations excelled. This wine was surprising good, especially for the $15.99 price that I paid. Remoissenet was maligned in the past for its sketchy ethical standards, but the estate has been greatly improved under new ownership.
