My wife surprised me last night with a special macaroni and cheese dish, which consisted of wild mushrooms and two different cheeses. White truffle oil was drizzled over the pasta. I drank a bottle of 2006 Meursault, Les Grands Charrons from Vincent Dancer and it was a good match for the food. The wine was very ripe (as are many 2006’s), but it was also elegant and well balanced. Vincent Dancer is an outstanding young winemaker based in Chassagne (see the Producer Profile page). The production is very limited and is rarely seen in retail accounts here in the U.S. Tonight, a pilgrimage to a great library of old Burgundy, Park & Orchard.
